ECi's trademarks and service marks ("ECi Trademarks") are the valuable intellectual property of ECi Software Solutions, Inc. and its affiliates. ECi, the ECi “red box” logo and the other trademarks referenced on this website (with ™ or ®) are the property of ECi Software Solutions, Inc. and its affiliates. The following guidelines should be followed when using any ECi Trademarks.
Generally speaking, you are permitted to use ECi Trademarks to refer to the applicable ECi products or services. For instance, if you are an authorized ECi reseller or distributor, you can indicate in your promotion materials that you are selling ECi products and services. You may indicate the relationship of your products or services to ECi products or services by using accurate tag lines.
You are generally permitted to use ECi Trademarks in group names that include phrases such as "user group" that clarify the relationship between ECi and the applicable group and do not create confusion about the source of products or services. If you are associated with a user group that includes an ECi Trademark in its name, you may not claim any trademark rights in the name or attempt to register the name or your logo with any applicable trademark authority, and you may not register the name as a trade name or business name, or conduct any business under the name.
You are not permitted to use ECi Trademarks in a manner that could cause confusion as to ECi sponsorship, affiliation or endorsement. You should take particular care not to use any ECi Trademarks as set out below.
You are not permitted to use ECi Trademarks or potentially confusing variations thereof as all or part of a company, product or service name. If you desire to indicate the relationship of your products or services to ECi products or services, please use an appropriate tag line as per the guidelines above.
You may not use ECi Trademarks or potentially confusing variations thereof in your Internet domain name. This helps prevent website visitors from being confused as to whether you or ECi is the source of the Web site.
ECi Trademarks are adjectives and should never be used as nouns or in the possessive or plural form.
Do not modify ECi Trademarks by changing their spelling or abbreviating them.
Proper trademark attribution through the use of the applicable trademark symbol (™ or ®) and notices help inform the public of the ECi Trademarks, and helps prevent them from becoming generic terms. Trademark notices also help inform the public that they belong to ECi. Accordingly, you should attribute ownership of ECi Trademarks to ECi Software Solutions, Inc. by using trademark symbols (™ or ®) and notices as detailed below. Use the appropriate symbol with the most prominent appearance of the applicable mark on products, packaging, manuals, advertisements, promotional materials and Web pages and the first use of the mark in text or body copy.
Any written or electronic materials bearing any ECi Trademarks must include the following trademark notice:
"ECi and [applicable trademark] are trademarks or registered trademarks of ECi Software Solutions, Inc. and/or its affiliates. All other trademarks may be trademarks of their respective owners."
The trademark notice may appear anywhere on the collateral, but typically is displayed on a copyright page, the back of a package or at the end of a document or bottom of a web page.
A trade name is a business name of a company. Trademarks and trade names are not the same, even though many companies use their trade names as trademarks. If you are using "ECi" as a substitute for ECi Software Solutions, Inc., for example, you are using it as a trade name. Trade names can be used in the possessive and do not require a generic term or a trademark symbol. Thus, you should not use a ® after "ECi" when it appears as part of the full corporate name or as a trade name.
